Victoria Celebrates Canada Day 2016 – Family Zone Coordinator

The Family Zone Coordinators for the Victoria Celebrates Canada Day celebration will play a supportive role in the coordination and implementation of activities in the Family Zone. The Coordinators will ensure that the Family Zone is a safe and enjoyable experience while working with the Site Manager to assist in the successful implementation of the activity plan and schedule. Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Site Manager with family zone requirements including layout, set-up, timing, and support services
  • Assist with installation and implementation of family zone activities
  • Ensure the family zone activities are coordinated safely
  • Establish and maintain clear lines of communication with site management team
  • Follow health and safety regulations

Certificates, Designations, Languages 

  • Fluency in English required

The Site Assistants for the Victoria Celebrates Canada Day celebration will play a supportive role in the management, set-up, operations, and tear down of the event sites. Tasked with logistical, site and event coordination, the Site Assistants will work directly with the Site Coordinator to assist in the successful implementation of the event plan and schedule. To succeed in this position, you must be comfortable performing manual labour. If interested, please email volunteer@atomiqueproductions.com

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist site coordinator with Show Operations requirements including layout, set up, timing, routes, support services, and tear-down
  • Ensure the event operations activities are coordinated and completed in accordance with deadlines and schedules
  • Establish and maintain clear lines of communication with Site Management team
  • Follow health and safety regulations
  • Assist with installation of event branding

The Stage Hand for the Victoria Celebrates Canada Day celebration will play a supportive role in the management, set-up, operations and tear down of the event stages. Tasked with artist load in, set-up, change-over, strike and load out, the Stage Hand will work directly with the Stage Manager and assist in the successful implementation of the event performance schedule. Job Responsibilities

  • Assist stage manager with stage operations requirements including layout, set up, timing, changeovers and event schedule
  • Assist the stage manager with any operations issues
  • Establish and maintain clear lines of communication with stage manager
  • Assist with artist load in and out

The Green Team members for the Victoria Celebrates Canada Day celebration will play a supportive role in the management, set-up, operations and tear down of the event waste management plan. Tasked with ensuring a clean site and at-source separation of waste and recyclable materials, the Green Team will work directly with the site management team and assist in the successful implementation of the event waste management plan. If interested, please email volunteer@atomiqueproductions.com

Job Responsibilities:

  • Distribute waste and recycling totes and signage throughout event sites
  • Encourage and assist patrons to use correct bins for waste
  • Assist with replenishing tote liners
  • Assist with general site cleaning
  • Establish and maintain clear lines of communication with site management
  • Follow health and safety regulations
  • Assist with event clean up

The Bike Valets for Victoria Celebrates Canada Day are key players in the Green Initiative. The valets will have the responsibility of accepting visitors’ bicycles and placing them in order in the valet area. The valet will give the visitor a ticket, and when the visitor returns they will exchange their ticket for their bicycle. The Bike Valets will help ensure that environmentally conscious travelling is easy, accessible and efficient. If interested, please email volunteer@atomiqueproductions.com

  • Maintain security and organization of visitors’ bicycles
  • Implement ticketing system
  • Communicate operation details to visitors
