Victoria Celebrates Canada Day is pleased to announce an exciting line-up of family-friendly events, main stage performances, A Flavour of Canada multicultural food village, and spectacular fireworks to celebrate Canada Day’s 147th birthday downtown on Tuesday, July 1, 2014!
Demonstrate your national pride by participating
in the “Living Flag” on the Legislature Lawn. T-shirt pick-up is at 12:30 p.m. or participants can bring their own to guarantee a spot. Participants are asked to assemble between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. for the Living Flag photo.
Getting There and Back
We encourage you to travel downtown by bike or bus. You can park your bike for free at our valet bicycle parking service adjacent to the Legislature Buildings. BC Transit will be running a Saturday schedule with supplemental buses. Special Canada Day bus stops will be located along Douglas Street to ensure a safe ride home. Canada Day Road Closures
Belleville Street, from Menzies to Douglas Streets, will be closed on Tuesday, July 1 from 6 a.m. – midnight. Government Street, from Humboldt to Superior Streets, will be closed from 4 p.m. – midnight.
